Things have been moving fast!

A lot has happened since my first post.  After we picked up our 30-ft Classic Airstream in mid-September, we realized that we could not wait until our planned date of summer 2015 to begin living our dream.  Yes, we still have to work until then, but that doesn’t mean we have to be tied to our three bedroom home.

We decided to advance the timetable and put our house on the market right away, thinking it might take a couple of months.  Nine days on the market and we had a buyer!  So with closing just a couple of weeks away, we are rapidly emptying our house and preparing for life as full-time RVers.

I plan to add a few more posts, shortly, with details about the process of downsizing,  making decisions about what to take with us (what we can and can’t live without) and things we’re doing to maximize storage.  Stay tuned!

  1. Congratulations on selling your home so quickly.

We had a 2005 Airstream Classic 30. Great trailer. We traded it for a 2008 Airstream Classic 34. We are planning on fulltiming in our 34 starting in 2017.

won’t livening in your Airstream in Indy during the winter be cold?

    1. Dave, We won’t be staying long term in Indiana. We have to work until June 2015, and originally had not planned on buying our Airstream until closer to that date. But we found the perfect trailer for us, at a great deal, so we went ahead and jumped in. We’ll put her in storage for the winter and stay in long=term hotel ( won’t be much different space wise) then park her in various parks in and around Indianapolis next year. We figure this will give us plenty of time to get her ready for long-term travel once we’re done working.
